Q. Is it bad for my hair?
A. Keratin is naturally occurring substance and providing you don't abuse the treatment as it does contain other chemicals to activate the goodness and only go to salons who use professional products it should not damage the hair.
Q. Isn't Formaldehyde Illegal?
A. No. High levels of formaldehyde are potentially unsafe, however products containing up to 0.2% are legal in the UK and proven to be safe. If you are nervous, ask your stylist to show you the ingredient list on the product.
Q. Will It Make My Hair Flat?
A. Not necessarily. The products we use smooth rather than simply make the hair poker straight. We can use differing techniques depending on your desired goal and will discuss this fully with you prior to application.
Q. How Long Does It Last?
A. This depends on a few factors, not least, how often you wash your hair and the products you use. ALWAYS use a sulphate free shampoo, sulphates will strip the keratin quickly. We find most clients see the benefits for between from 4 - 6 months
Q. Will I Have Straight Lengths and Curly Roots as It Grows Out?
A. Your Keratin Treatment will fade over time as opposed to growing out in the way something like Japanese Straightening will. If your hair is extremely curly you may see a more noticeable regrowth but we offer a HAIRLINE service up to 8 weeks after your full service which will certainly help you manage the regrowth.
Q. Can I Colour My Hair with A Keratin Treatments?
A. This is something we get asked a lot. Yes you can colour your hair HOWEVER, we do not recommend that you do it on the same day and, as the treatment can lift your colour, we usually suggest that you do the Keratin treatment first them wait a few days before colouring.
